Dawn Let me please make it quite clear that before being elected as a councillor for Isleworth in 2006 I was a member of the MRAG committee and during the four years I served attended countless meetings with Thames Water management and Chief Council Officer's who were constantly made fully aware of my opinions regarding Mogden I have also been involved in the local residents High Court Action against Thames Water and indeed was a witness so this legally barred me from voting on the Mogden expansion when I sat on the Sustainable Development Committee as it was pretty obvious that I had a conflict of interest and would have voted against it given the chance In fact I was not even allowed in the committee room when the vote took place yet I was able just like any other resident to watch the proceedings live on the council webcast in an office down the corridor at the Civic Centre!! When I was with the ICG we never ever used the whip system and I always voted first and foremost for what I thought was best for Isleworth residents even if that did ruffle a few feathers on the odd occasion So just to surmise I wish I was allowed to vote and speak at that planning meeting as I would have voted against the expansion but legally I was not allowed to |
