Its little wonder that Tory Cllr Brad Fisher was so incensed when residents raised the question of Tory Councillors allowing Thames Water to spend only £30million of the public allocated £42million during the last odour improvement program and cover only 2 storm tanks instead of the promised 8 tanks for which the money was provided by OFWAT. But the biggest environmental blunder by the Tories was knowing they had been duped by Thames Water and not using the opportunity, presented by means of Thames' Planning Application to expand the site, to insist that the remaining 6 tanks are covered. And here we are in January 2011 and residents in St Margarets, Twickenham and Isleworth continue to suffer the environmental impact of the Tory blunders where environmental health officers have stated categorically that had the storm tanks been covered the recent January stench attributed to the uncovered storm tanks would have led to control of the odour arising from the site. |
