Why is it a 'debacle'? As I explained (but you ignored NV) there are (were) two speed humps on Occupation Lane and there are two on Clayponds ave so it makes not a blind bit of difference to patients being caused distress by the humps. There is no restriction on access to Chestnut or adjoining roads. Every scheme across London that restricts traffic movements is hotly contested. Until they are in place eg since I've been a councillor the closure of the end of Albany Road was going to cause chaos. I can remember myself being infuriated when U turns were banned at Lionel Road/A4 when I was working between Slough and Great West House on the A4/Boston Manor Junction. We're all going to have to get used to restrictions on the hegemony of the car in London. Most people will be happy when their residential streets become calmer, safer and less polluted. |
