| The changes we have agreed as a result of comments here will in my opinion avoid the danger of Chestnut Avenue being used as an alternative route to avoid Ealing Road traffic lights. If, as someone suggests, a minority ignore the restriction it will not be difficult to enforce and I strongly doubt it will persist. This is an experimental closure in response to instructions from central government, though I have long thought that restricting through traffic in Clayponds Avenue desirable. If it doesn't work, we will reverse the changes but it's good to see some people welcome them - I think that opinion will grow. The residents of Green Dragon lane - or the only ones who I have heard from, are delighted with the change there, which has a similar objective. |
