If you take a close look at many streets there are routes that were not permitted speed humps for the very reason that ambulances could not access areas without huge risk to patients. So some streets that one would think ought to have speed humps or traffic calming don't. The later designs allow for the ambulances to straddle the humps but these don't work in narrower streets or single lane streets. But Occupation Lane is the dedicated access for Clayponds Hospital? So why not make it access only as far as Clayponds which at least will allow local patients and visitors, staff, ambulances and delivery vehicles. With such large vehicles and small roads , how will refuse and recycling trucks get around with access blocked? If it's like Ealings solution it will require the removal of a great many permit parking spaces to allow manoeuvres. as well as Emergency vehicle access. Is this being made clear to residents or like Ealing being kept quiet about till it's done? |
