Looking into the company that has bought the site I get a very uneasy feeling about them and what their plans will involve. 'Essential Living' looks like a relatively new company owned by a number of city types and with a portfolio of developments that are characterised by jamming as many small rental flats as possible into a site. They build solely for rental, so typical occupants will be young(ish) and transient. Their target market appears to be young professionals who rent for a few years before going somewhere else to buy a home. They do not include parking in their developments as this is a less cost effective use of land than building more flats. So, we now have an approved Local Plan. Please Hounslow, make absolutely sure this plan is adhered to by these developers. To me, 'Essential Living' look like the very worst type of property developer who will try everything possible to change the low rise plot into a maximum density, money making venture for them. We don't need that and the population of Brentford, who you represent, will be very annoyed if you let yet another high density development in through the back doors. |
