Ian, with respect, you do not appear to understand how land ownership works..... Morrisons have a lease, the freeholder can buy them out of the lease, at a price according to the market. Freeholder then has large site with low rise buildings All planning guidance is for increased density and 'better' use of land. Freeholder applies for planning for 4,5, 6 story blocks of residential with minimal parking (as per planning guidance) and retail on ground floor. This is happening all over London as parking as exists as Morrisons is not seen as an effective use of a scarce commodity, ie Land. Your comments about the council and its failure to prevent such development demonstrate real ignorance about planning, the market and the power of Local Authorities........... Have a nice day.... |
