| That is real progress Theo and I know the people at St. John's are really happy that things are moving, so please let us know if we can help you in any way with this, either through this resource or by PM. I guess what would reassure some of the doubters is if acknowledgements of past mistakes were forthcoming from those who actually made them. With due respect you are new to Hounslow Council - a breath of fresh air to be sure judging by the things you are saying, but not one of those Labour people who voted against the allocation of the funds for the St. John's Community Centre roof in 2010, or one of those who refused to support the Community Group's first Borough Council motion on community empowerment. As you would expect I would be the very last to say that a person cannot change their mind in politics, but I'm not sure it is possible to take one position then later to take the opposite position without having done so. I'm one of those silly old-fashioned people who thinks the ability to admit to past mistakes is a strength rather than a weakness, and one that voters are likely to give due credit for. |
