Without wishing to sound negative or unduly cynical, how can the public be persuaded that this new approach is something that is bought into by your whole Group, rather than just being wishful thinking on your own part? Especially bearing in mind that it would appear to conincide with your own departure from the Cabinet? There are certain long-standing councillors whom one would not instinctively associate with an approach that recognises the primacy of the community over party politics, to put it rather mildly. I don't need to mention names here. |
