| The £10 car charge for the Mela was designed to deter people from driving rather than to raise income. I also back onto the park and the worst thing of all, to my mind, would be to have more 'events' with the attendant traffic chaos. Traffic for this year's Mela was much better organised than in many previous years, but there was still something close to gridlock at closing time -- 8:30pm to 9pm -- in all directions. |
