| Bella I guess I am one of your "certain people" who doesn't know what he is talking about, however if there are other less contentious options for Gunnersbury Park than that which has been mooted and somebody who actually wanted me to take an interest were to furnish me with the facts I would be keen to look into this (no pun intended). On the other hand you may prefer to alert Robin of Southall, a man who carries a huge amount of clout in the corridors of power at Hounslow. Robin has demonstrated the extent of his commitment to the local environment in Hounslow by butting into this discussion and stirring the pot, in the same way that he and others attempted to do when they thought they detected a whiff of unrest following the recent AGM on Ivybridge. Fortunately they got their fingers burnt on that one and things are hopefully improving in spite of their efforts. I think it unlikely that the future of Gunnersbury Park was at the forefront of Robin's mind when he barged into this discussion to deliver his judgement, a thing he seems to consider essential before any project in Hounslow can progress. Speaking personally, if I am going to give up my time to get involved in an issue which doesn't greatly affect my own ward I would want to be satisfied that the object of the exercise is to preserve a local amenity rather than political showboating. In my experience one usually works to the absolute detriment of the other. |
