| The 'false rumours' were based on the minutes of the joint management board which Bela Cunha had to use a freedom of information request to get. These showed that members of the board which includes Councillors from both Ealing and Hounslow had actively discussed plans to sell off part of the park or the buildings possible for a private school or a luxury residential property development. Her efforts have managed to change the policy of having meetings about the future of the park from which the minutes are not published. We all want debate based on truth and fact which is why people were so unhappy that truth and fact were being kept from the general public. As was said previously all Cllr Thompson has said on this issue is that the public will be consulted on any development of the park. He has not made any commitment that the park will not be built on. If he wanted to end 'false rumours' then all he has to do is rule out selling off any part of the park for development. |
