I don't think that there is anything unfair about what I wrote. Admittedly the wood chopping I witnessed was some years ago but this doesn't mean to say that it didn't happen on other occasions (witness the boat people's own video) and it may well have continued had the boat people not been given reason to clean up their act. How on earth could anybody in their right mind or who gave a jot about the general public and safety think that that was an okay thing to be doing? What exactly is unfair about what I wrote? I can assure you that I haven't made any of it up and I've been in Brentford long enough to remember when there were no boats tied up along the railings at all. I didn't reread my previous post before writing this but I don't remember writing anything about 'threat'. Whatever, you obviously see the Council as a threat to you and the community of which you speak. You are no doubt correct about the river view being equally obscured by whatever the Council have up their sleeve and it may surprise you to know that I am not entirely in favour of the Council's proposals. It would be good to have a response to the other points raised in my previous post i.e re electricity supply, disposal of black water, relations with other boaters along the Brentford stretch of the river and so on. |
