As a boat owner myself I have to say that I love living in Brentford, I love the people, delight in the Watermans Art Center and feel very much part of the Community here and am fascinated by the local history. My daughter although just finishing drama school now, has been away from home for three years, however, still has a strong connection with the area. We moved here when she was 13. Our Community plan has at it's heart the increase of public space in the Park, by extending the boardwalk from which people can also access the River from a pontoon designated for public use. We would not dream of reducing the Park or indeed cutting down any of the trees. We would also move the boats away from the bank to give people a view of the River and be able to feed the ducks, swans geese, etc. and enjoy the waterside. Our plan works so much better for all concerned, It's a win win for everybody. The Council could be collecting mooring fees and Council Tax, from all boats, almost immediately. |
