I still don't understand why anyone feels they own the riverbank to develop it in any way at all. This must be the only stretch of open bank where a park runs down to the edge and it has been, possibly, pinched by a few boaters at the expense of the general use and freedoms for all boaters, which existed until recently. Is there not any value in restoring it to its historical use? Open land open riverside boaters using it for temporary use then moving along? I do wonder. Is there a public right of way along this stretch for freedom to walk along and enjoy the river, which cannot be built over? What do the historical maps say? |
