Stephen, you have already conceded (in one of these threads) that it will not 'become a private river front for the boats', so you are contributing strongly to misinforming people about what the council plans are. It will remain a public park with privately owned boats moored to it, just as it is today. All the boats will have properly instituted access to utilities, all will pay council tax, all will pay rent to the council or its partners for their use of publicly owned space and all will be subject to a mooring agreement under which they will be asked to keep their boats in a seaworthy and cosmetically respectable condition, and to respect the rules of the park. Most people would view that as a result, as the response to the exhibitions showed. |
