The plan does show a new Zebra crossing in South Street and the existing pelican crossing north of the roundabout (?Vanessa's Gumley to St. Bridget's church) is retained. As I understand this the crossing will be an 'informal' crossing in future - the controlled crossing at present in situ provides an audible warning for the visually impaired, where will that leave them in future? You all seem to have a lot of faith in drivers having regard to the volume of pedestrians using this crossing at very busy times, I hope that faith is not misplaced. |
