No conspiracy David. Labour have managed to inviegle three of the councillor's drinking buddies onto the ballot paper under a UKIP banner by offering a lifeline when UKIP had to withdraw its first choice candidate. This is not rumour or supposition, it is clearly demonstrated by the facts and indeed by the UKIP leader's admission that these characters are standing only to pursue a grudge rather than with any political objective in mind. It's all there in black and white for all eternity in glorious cyberspace. UKIP saves face and maximises the number of candidates it puts into the field, while Labour gets an opportunity to split the anti-Labour vote. I doubt whether UKIP gives a monkey's whether Labour or the ICG triumphs in Isleworth, for them it is simply all about making up the numbers. But thank you anyway for once again lending us the benefit of your expert insight into Isleworth politics. |
