"..moving over to the far right by joining UKIP" UKIP claims to have plenty of people moving to them from Labour - perhaps because they realise that the "far right" label is a lazy slur by UKIP's opponents. It seems Labour and UKIP are closer on the domestic political spectrum than commentators would have it. After all, Robin Taylor's stated views on the EU are in line with those of Sir Oswald Mosley, who most people think of as being on the "far right", and diametrically opposed to those of UKIP, while Sir Robin still seems to be supporting the Labour Party and would no doubt class himself as being on the political left. |
