Our school runs are either on foot or by a diesel bus! I cycle to work or take the train. I rarely use my car and if I do it's usually for longer family journeys where public transport is not practical. When I moved her 20 years ago parking was never a problem apart from match days. We are now forced to pay for (unreserved) parking due to poorly planned new developments ignoring weak local infrastructure (eg. Jammed London road towards Kew or Isleworth during peak hours - consider the pollution!). ONS figures out today show we are facing the worst cash squeeze in 40yrs. People are struggling to make ends meet. Any extra costs are going to be resisted, particularly those that are deemed unfair. We are not cash cows for the council! |
