The questions that you ask are very pertinent but presumably all will be revealed if the case ever comes to Court. Without being in full possession of all the facts I am not at all sure that we are able draw any firm conclusions such as "sounds spiteful and childish". It is of course true that if Cllr Curran was not Leader of LBH the Police would not have arrested Mr Slattery because we must assume that Mr Slattery and others would not have been peacefully protesting outside Cllr Curran's house if he was not Leader of the Council (its a kind of circular argument). I have no access to any inside information but I think that it is interesting that Mr Slattery's phone is reportedly still being held by the Police. One could conclude from this fact that there is information on the phone that is relevant to the police investigation e.g. phone numbers called, texts, emails etc. This might caste a different light on why Mr Slattery was taken into custody. On the other hand the Police may simply be experiencing difficulty in accessing the data on the phone. I hope that in the fullness of time all will be revealed and that we are not left with any nagging questions e.g. why only Mr Slattery was arrested. |
