| I'm not sure that that view is necessarily the right one - I don't think this lot have an ounce of political nous between them. I think they are blundering around listening to the various 'consultants' they seem so fond of. Yes they will have to consider the financial implications of various issues, but they need to realise that someone who works for them in a consultancy or any temporary role will not give a toss about Hounslow - it's just another job to them and then they're on their way. Councillors are the ones who have to answer to us and they would do well to remember that. When you constantly manage to get up the noses of people who are your natural supporters and do not seem capable or interested in engaging with the electorate to the degree that people have felt moved to turn up to your home to protest, then you have to finally realise you've got things so,so wrong. Throwing a hissy fit seems to be becoming a habit for the Dear Leader, it ain't pretty and it certainly isn't the behaviour we should expect from someone leading the local authority. I'd take some time if I were him and reflect on this last few weeks and learn some lessons in communication. |
