That was a sharpish response but she who shouts loudest ........ and why not? When I used to help people bid on Locata, I had the impression (excluding certainly band D) that if you kept bidding, then your name would gradually rise. Admittedly that was not in Hounslow. The best thing nowadays about people who did not use their right to buy, is that the tenants have escaped the quite horrendous service charge bills which leaseholders have to pay thanks to Mrs Thatcher. There can be a lot of snouts in the trough who benefit from Service Charge money, and where that is paid for by the state to people on benefits, or to those who are nearly on benefits and who miraculously find their service charge then bumps them into the benefits net (a little known fact) - then it is the tax payer who has to pay. I note the Tories have been exceedingly silent on the point that Social tenants rents will be going up above the rate of inflation in April by is it 6%? Do they care? |
