| The last new build programme in Hounslow during the Thatcher years was in 1989 - St John's Road, Isleworth and Harte Road, Hounslow. After that it was impossible to gain government approval for new build local authority housing. Under Labour, it is only relatively recently that restrictions have been lifted, resulting in a small, but nevertheless welcome, Hounslow Homes new-build programme in the last year or two. |
