Adam - bit stiff criticism me thinks. Anyone's property, where ever and what ever they buy, represents a significant investment. Not niave - more 'better than renting' and well proven historically. So surely your statement is hard and unjustified - with a whiff of distain for the properties in that part of town. And there is a very valid point about rental fees (and no doubt business rates) being charged. A remote management company would rather sustain high rental levels and live with an empty site - after all they are remote and do not see the problem. It is always going to be true that any business setting up such a site needs to offer a good and well priced service / product. But unrealistically high rentals stop even the very best business ideas. The risk becomes too high. This is an issue worth considering in light of the proposed re-development of the high street. Are you really saying that you're happy for the high street to end up being full of empty retail units? |
