I did go along (and appreciated the free food with the catering done by the Spire Cafe) but thought that Theo Dennison's comments were valid that rather than a Customer Engagement officer the Forum should request a decision maker to come to the meeting. Ajoma handled the flak well but most items were "I'll note that down and pass it to the relevant team". The 65 bus problems got a fair airing (the problem was said to be that drivers hours and need for breaks was being breached) and suggestions that the route should be split and/or the 235 extended to Ealing were made. I was surprised by the comments that the McDonald's bus stop was owned by JCDecaux and the absence of any seat was due to its atypical size and the inability of JCDecaux to source one to fit. The discussion on lighting under the A4 and the problem of pedestrians crossing at Windmill Road was recognised but TfL said there was no budget for the work and funds needed to be raised to finance it. It seemed odd to me. I agree that it would be useful for Brentfordtw8 to give a heads-up/ agenda for the Forum. It didn't help me that the Council website hosting the agenda was down on the day of the meeting and I wasn't sure of the venue and had to ask BrentfordTV for the timing of the items (which weren't adhered to as the Chair swapped sessions around to put TfL on first !) |
