| Closing a shop to give staff a ‘rest’ is unusual. They will still have to pay rent, insurance, rates, utilities…. There is a garden centre apparently coming to St Lawrence church, although how is that’going to compete with Hilliers at Syon Park (multiple Chelsea gold medals, free parking, huge plant stock and a top quality butcher). I wonder who has been advising the council and Ballymore on what constitutes a vibrant high street. At some point they will allow charity shops to occupy the empty units. |
