| Monday afternoon at 4pm (yesterday)...I wandered down the Yard to the left of Gail's Bakery and saw not a soul until I reached the Water's edge. Only two people resting in the sunshine. The Yard was lined with a long line of vacant shop premises. Sam's was closed (being a Monday) and Sam's Larder too. The West Bradbury Yard was equally sparsely occupied and I said to myself ... amongst the dark chocolate architecture ... is this a Brentford Folly. I recall the images displayed with the initial advertising ... ladies laden with clothes shopping bags ... and gentile folk acting out some Belgravian style. I've fallen out with the development. |
