"To be absolutely clear Ruth has always been neutral on the issue of Church St. "She didn't take sides, and said simply that its a matter for the council but if traffic remains unchanged (as shown by the independent reports) then 'the Council decision is easy; for no difference in traffic delay and the opportunity to retain and improve an excellent (almost) traffic-free walking and cycling route through Isleworth, they have a win-win.' Did any of the dimwitted Councillors take into consideration that the traffic up Twickenham Road would become so horrific (not only in rush hours) that more and more people are shooting up Worton Road /Bridge Road as well as St Johns Road and Linkfield Road. This increase is causing huge traffic jams on the London Road eastbound not to mention that Worton Road has deteriorated beyound belief. Did any Councillor think of the impact of closing Chrurch Street? |
