From the Church Street Facebook page: "Ruth Cadbury. "It seems that now there's an election those opposed to the reprioritisation will do anything to bully anyone who they feel has disagreed with them, or may in the future (perhaps because the strings are being pulled by another political group behind the scenes). "It was the same making wholly unfounded accusations (bribery, corruption etc) against Labour Cllrs, and now they're turning on the Labour MP. "To be absolutely clear Ruth has always been neutral on the issue of Church St. "She didn't take sides, and said simply that its a matter for the council but if traffic remains unchanged (as shown by the independent reports) then 'the Council decision is easy; for no difference in traffic delay and the opportunity to retain and improve an excellent (almost) traffic-free walking and cycling route through Isleworth, they have a win-win.' "Please, however you choose to vote in the forthcoming elections do so based upon the facts, and not misinformation being spread by Ruth's political opponents." I don't know who these "political opponents" are who are apparently spreading misinformation about Ruth. As far as I can make out the Tories have been completely silent on Church Street (as on any other important local issue) and I'm not aware of any statement from the Lib Dems, Greens or UKIP on the subject. Can anybody please interpret this rather bizarre intervention for my benefit? |
