Ruth and her supporters elected to remain silent on her position on Church street closure at the time when it mattered. Now - Oh, it's election time! - they are trying to give some explanation - apparently she was not supporting the closure but was sitting on the fence… Slightly leaning towards support of the Council. Saying that Labour nationally had no role to play in local issues – wheeliebin saga including prosecution of the activist, massive oversize developments with no infrastructure not design to meet the needs of locals and working people, Church Street to name a few - is strange. Yes they had. And if they hadn't - it's even worse. As for the local opposition – I don’t think it is appropriate to blame them here. This thread is not about them - it is about Labour failure to deliver in Hounslow. I keep saying – it’s us who elect them. And now again – despite all recent obvious Labour failures – seems like we are ready to vote for them again. In my view Labour should pay the price. Labour in Hounslow believe that whatever they do here - they will get away with it. |
