A few months ago I was fined £110 for allowing my two front wheels to encroach a Bus Stop area for about 8 seconds while I was stopped (engine running) to allow my daughter out of the car at approx 7am one morning. There was hardly any traffic and certainly no bus parked at the Bus Stop and no bus behind me waiting to pull in. The CCTV photo sent to me by LBH was proof enough. I was guilty as charged under the law despite the fact that I was not inconveniencing anyone. Yes, I know -if everyone did it there would be chaos. The law is the law. Yes I was angry but I had broken the law so I had to accept it and pay up. However, reading all the comments about this recycling mess and the litter and complaints of litter and fly-tipping on Chiswick High Street, I get more angry that Hounslow doesn’ t use it’s CCTV cameras to catch the ‘real’ criminals and fine them heavily as is its statutory duty and within its powers under EPA 1990. |
