This issue/problem is borough wide, one only has to take a walk in any of the parks at the weekend, particularly Carville Hall South or Gunnersbury Park, or in a public square like the footbridge over the Grand Union Canal lock, and the bins are always overflowing, presumably both because they're not emptied regularly enough and because there isn't enough bins/bins are poorly located. To be honest the state of Morrisons car park, whilst not particularly attractive, doesn't bother me anywhere near as much as when I see the state of local parks and public squares - after all one is a town centre car park, the other is supposed to be open space where people want to spend leisure time. Clearly it doesn't help that some people are incredibly lazy, but it's ironic how much grief many of my clients (particularly fast food operators) get from Councils and Councillors about litter, when they provide far more bins and litter picking services than the Council does. |
