| “The refuse collectors will often leave wrongly bagged items behind, probably to shame you in front of your neighbors, forcing you to either commithari-kari, or, more likely, into doing the right thing next time.” Thats the difference between a nation that takes pride and our lot who simply don’t care. I was in Berlin last weekend and couldn’t believe how clean it was. Strangely there wasn’t an abundance of litter bins but there was hardly any litter and NO bins were overflowing. The same goes for Hamburg, Paris, New York, Sydney, Auckland etc etc. Arriving back in London on Sunday night I was just amazed at the amount of litter scattered about all over the place. Our Borough Council ( and other London Councils) really need to get a grip on litter and recycling. London is a disgrace for a ‘first world’ city. |
