| Although I don't know the origin of why it was called The Barracks, I can tell you that my mum and aunty were born at number one, the barracks in the 1920's. There were at least six one bedroom houses along the lane and out in the middle of the lane was a toilet block for them to use. They did not own it, just rented it before moving to council house in Lionel Rd. |
