A typically disingenuous reply from Guy Lamport which misses the two key points - 1) the LTN changes were OVERWHELMINGLY rejected by the people that live in the roads affected and that he is supposed to represent - 2) it doesn't matter that it was TFL that closed the A4 junction - there will always be roads affected by road closures by various utility companies - because of the restriction in alternative routes, this now becomes a serious problem where before it was not. And are there any environmental benefits - can we see the data that supports this? I don't think the residents of Windmill Road would agree that their air has become cleaner - my experience last summer on the days I drove home from work was sitting in a stationary queue of traffic, all with engines running and air conditioning turned up full knowing that I could have been home ten minutes earlier. |
