"Mogden won't be able to cope in a few years " Even after the expansion, can it cope now ? Today's tweet : From @Thameswater 04/11/13 01:55 In next hour #Mogden STW discharging storm water to River #Thames #sewage http://sdn.rivertac.org Is that 7 or 8 events from Mogden since the upgrade that should have limited discharges to 2 a year ? "Following the upgrade to the Mogden works, Environment Agency modelling indicates that in a typical rainfall year there may still be up to two storm tank discharges, totalling around 63,000m3. This represents a significant reduction on that which was occurring before the upgrade work was carried out, with up to 12 discharges totalling around 890,000m3. The actual number of storm tank discharges recorded will always vary depending on the actual rainfall in any year compared to a “typical”, or “average”, year." It's a shame that the first year after opening is so untypical ! |
