If true this mirrors TW's attitude towards the Section 106 agreement that it has with LBH and which it has casually flouted. An S106 agreement is legally binding and the consequences for violating one can be severe. If Thames has ignored requirements laid down by LBH as a condition of planning permission being granted it must inevitably be because it feels it has reason to believe that the local authority will not pursue the matter. The uniquely submissive fashion in which LBH officers allowed Thames bosses to pick and choose which terms they would accept during the infamous planning meeting of 2009 gave every indication that Thames was running the show and that even the relatively benign conditions which were being inserted were there for cosmetic purposes only. The water company's conduct since that shameful meeting appears entirely to bear this out. |
