Brad Don't you think that might have been the reason why MRAG and the rest of the community gave this silly charade a bye ball? That is assuming of course that they received an invite in the first place - a dangerous assumption to make when dealing with this crowd. As well as being a vehicle for Ruth's push for the Labour candidacy this stunt has also been used by her colleagues in Isleworth for pre-election propaganda purposes. Indeed they somehow managed to produce a whole A4, front-page article about the battles against Thames Water without any mention of MRAG, the object of the exercise obviously being to try to create a chasm between the residents' campaign group and the wider community - a strategy which its authors will have known full well can only benefit Thames Water. The residents are not the problem. It's you guys who are the problem. You, Labour and Conservative councillors, who ignored the residents when they told you that the expansion of Mogden would result in a deterioration, not a solution - a view formed on the back of many years of first-hand experience in dealing with Thames Water and confirmed by expert opinion. You ignored the residents and chose instead to listen to the officers, with their track record of indifference and sometimes even collusion, and now that you politicians have finally caught up with the rest of us you have the nerve to expect to be taken seriously. |
