| I take acceptation to your calling my Town an "eyesore of a Town" everyone looked out for each other,my Family & Relations have lived in Brentford 4 over 3 Centuries & I can only speak from experience as to how we have diminished in Industry & Wellbeing. The G8 West Rd really was the Golden Mile,there was absolutely no unemployment here NEVER!! until Compulsory Purchase of Property came about,the opening to Augustus Close 4 instance was an Alley with 11 Cottages as was the Ham which was compulsory purchased by the then Council & was left Derelict 4 at least 25 years!! as so many other properties were,look at Regatta Point £1 Million & more 4 the top flats & yet that was the Old Telephone Exchange Derelict 4 nigh on 30 years. We need a Shopping Centre & Amenities to encourage our New Neighbours to want to shop here not a money maker 4 Developers who will walk away & not look back!!! |
