| This thread included several comments on the lack of good restaurants in Brentford (compared with Chiswick). What you do have is a really good Indian restaurant - Pappadums overlooking the river. Before I left Chiswick (I agree with earlier comments about how it has changed - and those reasons are why I left after 29 years there) I used to get on the 237 or 267 to eat at Pappadums. Now I'm in Gunnersbury the journey isn't anything like as easy (a trudge down the ghastly North Circular then one of the buses) but I'm still doing it. I've had good and disappointing at the Weir (going for the first time when it was really new, not been recently) but never been disappointed by Pappadums. I suspect Brentford is a bit like Chiswick in that where you live determines where you go to eat out - the nearest being the most convenient and those a little further away often forgotten. It's worth a trip for me! |
