| Paul and Phil and Vanessa must have met real paragons of virtue in their time on the Council if they think Jason doesn't measure up to the job - but where are those paragons now? And how come those paragons made such a mess of the Council? Jason argued the case for the St John's roof when it was a minority view in Labour Group, he's intolerant of the incompetence and arrogance of the old senior management and as determined as I am that Hounslow is changed for the better. As an advocate, Syon electors could not fail to find him eager to listen - and doubtless he would welcome more of them to attend the lonely monthly vigil he calls surgeries. There are many councillors I have never heard speak. Jason Ellar is not one of them. If you want to raise the bar on competence at the Council please do so - there are plenty before him who fall short. And by all means stand candidates against him - but get your bloody boots on now, because I'll be out with him again this weekend and whether you are Conservative, ICG, Green, UKIP or LibDem you'll need to work hard - because we ain't making way for him or any of us to be replaced by a slacker. |
