I was talking to Jason this morning as this thread took off. I am sure if we'd known, he'd have been hurt rather than angered by the ignorant comments made by otherwise sensible people posting without bothering to check the facts. But I am angered and if you think Jason was a bad choice for syon then it is me, not him or the party who is at fault. Firstly let's look at his attendance record - it is all online on the Council website so you could have checked: Since his election he has attended 33 of the 51 meetings he was due to attend - that's 64.7%. Sure, it's not all but it isn't 'all but a handful' Paul - last time I counted a handful was 5; nor does it fall foul of the six month rule Vanessa; nor is that 'not turning up most of the time' Keith; nor does it mark him out to be condemned as 'an absentee' Phil. On the 18 ocassions Jason has failed to attend, he has submitted his apologies 10 times - that's 55.6% of the time. Again not perfect but more than a handful and while I agree it is both best to attend and always polite to apologise his record is not grounds for a trolling. |
