| I think it was the residents who asked to meet Councillor Ellar without officers being present, given the track record of senior LBH officers on the Mogden issue. The purpose of the meeting was essentially to brief the Lead Member on the problem from a community perspective. There is absolutely no reason why he should not be prepared to meet residents on those terms and his apparent refusal to do so smacks to me of him sending us a message of "We (LBH) are in charge of this process and will set out the rules, not you lot (residents)". It is on this very fundamental point that we have fought many battles in the past. |
