| From the latest issue of 'Private Eye' "In June Eye 316 reported on the reluctance of the London borough of Hounslow or Inspector Knacker to take action over an attempt to "suborn and intimidate" an independent member of the council's standards committee, which had been investigating allegations of corrupt planning decisions involving Labour councillors Mohinder Gill and Gopal Dhillon. The four independent members of the committee have since resigned en masse in protest at the council's "prevarication and procrastination" and referred the matter to the local government ombudsman. Dodgy councillors1, public-spirited citizens 0". When will some of our Labour councillors find their backbone? This is an absolute disgrace and has been going on for years and no-one would listen and actually do something to stop it, failure to tackle this kind of thing has brought this to a head as these people probably thought they were untouchable.............Won't someone stand up and be counted finally? |
