Thanks for the explanations folks. However I disagree that the chances for residents to park with the CPZ will not change. The number of cars competing for parking will become smaller. Even without 24 hours a day CPZ. The “host of restrictions” have already happened – the new double yellow lines have been introduced in the area. I’m not sure if indeed Hamilton Road has more residents cars than it can accommodate, but the correct solution would be to introduce CPZ not just in Hamilton Road, just as I wrote before, in the whole area between Ealing Road, Albany Road, Half Acre, Windmill Road and railway. This is the only solution that can somehow improve residents parking as there is no potential for offstreet parking (except for Clifden Road). The implementation of a CPZ is a different issue. And I do agree that “A simple CPZ is a sticker with ones council tax annually for each car registered and free visitors permits for each council tax paying household. And a No Commuter Zone.” |
