Sensitive subject CPZ’s, just look at the postings about Grove Park/Strand on the Green on the ChiswickW4 site.... I have recently moved to Brentford from Acton where I was very happy to be within a CPZ. Rapidly introduced after my neighbouring borough brought one in just over the road which caused real overflow problems in my street. My permit cost £75, visitor vouchers £3 a day, but all worthwhile. My new place has its own parking so I have to say that a CPZ would not affect me but as it is very close to Griffin Park I was surprised to find no local CPZ, and parking was tight on local roads, lunchtime-ish when I visited a couple of times. Unlike Grove Park the houses do not have the space for off street parking, which reduces street parking. So I am puzzled as to why a CPZ close to the ground or train station is not current. Yes, a CPZ could mean an overflow impact but the timings could be judged to match games and I am sure that the GWQ development will not have enough parking for all their flats, which when built out may have an impact on Hamilton Rd and south...... IMHO, CPZ is worth thinking about, but I am only an incomer........Iain |
