| 'Why is it that all these great well intentioned ideas end up being such an expensive and widely abused disaster? In part it's because the pragmatic concerns are dismissed and ignored at the outset and then a period of denial overrules rather than be admitted and actioned immediately.' Absolutely. also what seems such a good idea on the face of it doesn't get thought through to any logical conclusion. There is always an assumption that people will act as people in authority say they will - WRONG! If that were the case we wouldn't need a police force, there is always going to be some clever individual who thinks they can beat the odds. Some people just have absolutely no intention of behaving in a socially acceptable way, they just don't care as long as they can do what they want. Local authorities should have got a grip on this whole sorry saga of Lime bikes and scooters when electric scooters started to become popular, Lime just pulled a fast one and no-one did anything, not helped by a blinkered council here - who jump to do anything related to bikes be it good, bad or indifferent. To object is to be labelled almost a heretic. There is also resentment at the amount of public money that has been spent for what surely is a far lower percentage of road users. |
