I am afraid I don’t know anything about inspiring Isleworth and so cannot usefully comment other than to say that all council grants need to be transparent, justified in terms of clear benefit to the community and properly scutinised by councillors. We are certainly supportive of the concept of a farmers market in Isleworth. A Sunday Market has been running in Brentford’s market square for some time now and is well supported locally. We attended the Mogden Residents Liaison Meeting last night. Barry Edwards was there for MRAG and seems to have a good handle on what is going on with the site. Our main concern is with the forward planning for the much larger number of users connected to the facilities that are expected over the next few years. in particular, ensuring that we don’t see a return to the kind of unacceptable situation we had in 2015 https://hounslowlibdems.org.uk/en/article/2015/1070031/open-letter-to-defra-mogden-sewer-works. On the way to the Mogden meeting, the Twickenham Road was closed from Worton to Mogden lane due to a fatal road accident in which a young boy of 18 was killed riding his moped. A terrible tragedy for his family and friends and a reminder to us all of what is important in life. |
