| These 'For Charity' junkets are simply a feel good for the 'well to do' In actual fact after costs are taken out, very little is ever raised for the charities. Even glitzy events in Mayfair often raise no more than a few hundred pounds for the charity involved, but those involved all had a rather lovely time along the way. And it's good for business PR. But even donating businesses seldom find out how much actually ended up going to the charities. It's far better to donate directly or better still get involved helping local charities. Off course for that you get no recognition, no pay, no glory. So maybe this group will let punters know exactly what percentage will go to the two charities? 100%, 80% or 5%? |
